The Role
This is a full-time, remote, paid position with basic benefits. You will work 40 hours per week during regular business hours (Pacific time) for wikiHow, while your employment, payroll, and benefits—including a unique Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)—will be managed by Eastridge Workforce Solutions.
We have openings for two different writing roles:
- General writers focused on topics like social media trends, astrology, relationships, home maintenance, fitness, mental health, finance, pets, careers, social topics, and trends, with a willingness to write about an even wider array of topics and create interactive content
- Technology writers focused on topics like emerging tech, social platforms, software instructions, tech troubleshooting, hardware descriptions, upgrades, trends, and gaming
What You’ll Do
- Craft Human-Centered Content: Write empathetic, engaging, and SEO-optimized articles that feel like a helpful conversation between friends.
- Maintain a Consistent Production Schedule: Thrive in a high-output environment by producing 8+ polished articles per week, managing a workflow of roughly 5 hours per piece (including research and revisions).
- Master the wikiHow Voice: Apply our specific style guidelines across a diverse range of formats—from deep-dive "how-tos" to trending social topics.
- Champion Originality: Commit to a 100% human-written process. You will rely on your own creativity and research, strictly avoiding AI tools to ensure our content remains authentic and trustworthy.
- Research with Purpose: Dive deep into every topic to ensure we are providing the most accurate, high-quality information to a global audience of billions.
- Collaborate and Evolve: Work closely with our high-caliber content management team, using constructive feedback to sharpen your writing and grow as a professional.
- Expand Your Reach: Contribute your skills to special content initiatives, interactive projects, and creative experiments as we continue to innovate.
What You'll Bring
- Proven Writing Expertise: A college degree (ideally in a writing-intensive field) and 2+ years of professional experience writing, researching, and publishing online content.
- The Human Touch: A mastery of English grammar and the ability to translate complex information into a clear, friendly, and engaging "how-to" voice.
- GEO & SEO Savvy: Experience writing for generative and search engine optimization without losing the warmth and helpfulness that human readers crave.

Salary & Benefits:
- Salary: The hourly rate for this position is between $18-22 per hour. Factors that may affect starting pay within this range include location, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications.
