As the leader of the editorial team, I had the privilege of overseeing our entire editorial process. My role involved assigning tasks to our talented team members and managing deadlines and ensuring that every piece of content met our high standards of quality. I collaborated closely with other departments to facilitate seamless production and ensure alignment with our revenue objectives, contributing to our overall success.

I proudly supported a talented team of writers and editors, meticulously overseeing every stage of the content creation process to ensure the highest quality in our final pieces. This involved identifying errors that may have slipped past previous editors and also fostering a collaborative environment with Project Managers, Instructional Designers, Writers, and Editors. Together, we created exceptional content that truly resonated with our audience.

At BRAC Tanzania, I had the privilege of spearheading our internal and external communications. My role was pivotal in crafting and executing innovative communication strategies that not only enhanced media relations but also ensured consistency in our brand messaging. I expertly navigated crises, fostering positive relationships with various media outlets and development partners along the way. I took charge of our external communication channels, including vibrant social media platforms and our engaging BRAC Tanzania website. I created captivating copy for newsletters and memos, all while upholding our brand's integrity by delivering compelling content and impactful marketing materials.

I took charge of assigning and editing captivating sports stories, leading a talented team of sub-editors, sports writers, photographers, reporters, and columnists. I fostered strong relationships with esteemed writers and media professionals in the sports industry, skillfully assigning stories to our dedicated reporters. I collaborated closely with the marketing and sales departments, as well as executives, engaging in dynamic discussions about budgets and innovative coverage strategies. My role allowed me to shape the narrative in the world of sports, ensuring our content resonated with our audience.

My primary responsibility was to artfully review and refine written content, guaranteeing precision in grammar, spelling, and factual accuracy while enhancing the overall Nation Media Group house style. I made essential adjustments to align with publication guidelines, including word count and house style, prior to release. This multifaceted role often included tasks such as copy-editing, meticulous fact-checking, crafting engaging headlines, and upholding the highest standards of copyright and libel compliance.

My role involved in-depth research and the art of gathering information through insightful interviews and keen observations in Mombasa, Kenya, for Nation Media Group. I verified facts and crafted engaging news stories that informed and captivated readers. By delivering accurate reports on current events, I upheld the highest standards of journalistic ethics and consistently met stringent deadlines. With a specialization in politics, business, and sports, I forged valuable relationships with sources and adeptly updated stories as fresh information emerged.
