Job Title: Freelance writer for Bourbon+ Magazine
Location: Remote
Type: Freelance
Bourbon+ Magazine is looking for creative, thorough, and detail-oriented freelance writers with knowledge of Bourbon, Whiskey, Scotch & various spirits to join our editorial team. Must have a passion for creating informative and proficient features and be able to self-edit work, complete projects on time, and write effectively. Bourbon+ is distributed quarterly (4x a year)
A successful candidate will have a broad knowledge of the spirits industry, its trends, and other elements surrounding the topic.

What We’re Looking For:
We’re looking to work with 4–5 freelance writers who can contribute at least 1-2 articles (word count per article ranges from 800-1,600) per quarter about the spirits world, with a focus on Bourbon and Whiskey (including recipes, guides, entertainment, interviews, Q&A and historical pieces)
Responsibilities:
- Write clear and concise copy.
- Proofread and self-edit copy.
- Research and present topics in an engaging and informative manner.
- Ensure content accuracy and relevance to our target audience.
- Ensure all content is original and not generated by AI tools
Requirements:
- Excellent writing and editing skills- strong grammar, punctuation, and spelling knowledge.
- Ability to meet deadlines and produce quality content.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Knowledge of, and a passion for, the Bourbon, Whiskey, and Scotch industry.
- Ability to conduct interviews, write features, recipes, and guides, and conduct research.
- An eye for detail.
