Internet Privacy Initiative BV is looking for an experienced copywriter with SEO and Conversion Rate Optimization experience to add to our growing English editorial team for our multilingual website, VPNOverview.com.
Who We Are
Internet Privacy Initiative BV is a publishing company based in the Netherlands. We have two websites, VPNOverview.com and VPNGids.nl, that mainly focus on informing the general public about VPNs, online security, online freedom, and worldwide legislation about these topics. We do that by reviewing VPNs, antivirus software, password managers, private browsers, geopolitics, streaming, downloading, and more.
Available in 10 languages (currently), VPNOverview.com has purely informative content, aimed at making difficult technical subjects understandable to even the least tech-savvy of users, and more commercial content where we advise a certain solution (VPN, antivirus, password manager, etc.) to our visitors. We pride ourselves on the extensive research we do and we do not recommend solutions that don't work.
What are we looking for?
Currently, we are looking for an experienced content writer to add to our English language team. It’s a remote freelance job and we are looking to build a long-term relationship with the right candidate. Do you meet the following criteria?
- Experienced tech writer with native/near-native written English proficiency level
- Available between 24 and 40 hours per week, with the intention to commit to a long-term cooperation
- Has an investigative approach, strong attention to detail, and impeccable writing skills
- SEO writing experience with proficiency in SEO-related tools like Ahrefs and SurferSEO
- Conversion rate optimization skills preferred
- Takes ownership of their writing by reviewing their analytics and advising leadership if they notice trends or have ideas on how to improve the website
- Works well under deadlines with good time management skills
- Technically versed and experienced working in WordPress, including Gutenberg (no coding experience required, but it’s a plus if you’re not afraid of applying or learning some basic HTML)
- A hard worker with a drive to be the best, with the ability to work autonomously
- Good communication skills: able to collaborate with all internal stakeholders
- Has an understanding of torrenting, streaming, and online gaming (preferred)
- Experience writing for affiliate websites is a plus
Main responsibilities:
We will give you topics and SEO briefings. Based on these briefings, you can do the necessary research, examine the articles that currently rank well in the SERPs, make a plan and structure, and then write an article that exceeds all existing articles in the SERPs in terms of quality, accessibility, and conversions. Your daily activities will consist of:
- Writing new articles on various topics related to VPNs, web safety, online privacy, and internet freedom.
- Updating and improving existing articles that have already been published on the website.
- Optimizing articles for search engines and conversions.
- Testing software, such as VPNs, antivirus software, and password managers.
- Adding new posts in WordPress’ Gutenberg editor, including adding and updating Gutenberg blocks.
- Reviewing your recent articles in LookerStudio and completing available ongoing training as needed to improve your writing.
