Hello! I am a data scientist, a military spouse, and I currently live on the beautiful tropical island of Okinawa, Japan.
I have a blog (datalabnotes.com) where I am starting to write about data science topics. I would love to write tech blog articles for you!
I have experience ranging from Linux System Administration, to managing databases, data lakes, data warehouses in Hadoop. I have also used many different types of data analytics tools and built machine learning models in Python and R. I can comfortably and expertly do research and write about data-related tech topics!

Education
I learned a broad range of data science topics in R and Python. This included data visualization, data mining (Machine Learning), Communicating about data, Data Ethics, Natural Language Processing, Prescriptive analytics, web scraping, Map Reduce in Hadoop, and High Performance Computing.
Math degree that included some C++, Object Oriented Programming in Java and Computational Statistics.
Experience
I built end-to-end telematics pipelines in Hadoop using the Apache Big Data tech stack: NiFi, HBase, Hive, Impala, Kudu, Kafka, Spark Streaming, etc. I built Machine Learning pipelines in Dataiku using python, pyspark, and SQL. I built dashboards and dataproducts in PowerBI. My main focus was on utilizing IoT data derived from heavy duty trucks to find and communicate Predictive Maintenance insights, building dashboards and machine learning models for Condition Based Maintenance programs.
Lead Linux system administrator (1 of 1)working in a data center.
I was an intern at a newspaper for several years. I learned how to write good, clear articles for general consumption. This experience has been incredibly useful in my tech career because technical documentation has been a crucial requirement for all of my jobs in tech.
