Experience
I worked at FERC for 18 years analyzing applications for disposition and acquisition of FERC jurisdictional assets (transmission facilities, power contracts, inter alia). During my time there I worked with teams from different offices to solve complex issues. My work products included written orders for acceptance or rejection of applications for jurisdictional assets, and memos containing case recommendations to FERC Commissioners and senior staff.
I also Served as a coach for several staff members.
I delivered several written work products while at the CEC, including: (1) a chapter for the CEC’s 2002-2012 Energy Outlook Report; (2) CEC Comments on the California Power Authority’s
January 18, 2002 Draft Energy Resource Investment Plan; (3) The
Comparative Cost of California Electric Generation Technologies Report (co-authored with Magdy Badr); (4) The Staff memo on Capacity Payments; and (5) CEC Comments on California ISO’s White Paper: MD02 Proposal for Honoring Existing Transmission Contracts.
I Held two (2) one-year visiting positions with the institute, teaching economics of developing countries, environmental economics, introductory macroeconomics, and introductory microeconomics.
