Description

Position Overview:

Would you like to become an integral member of a professional, rapidly-growing content development team? Here's your opportunity. At Content Customs, the responsibility of our Legal Blog Staff Writer is to produce high-quality written content for a multitude of law firms across a wide array of legal topics. Assignments are written in a journalistic style and writers must source and cite current events in the media, or matters in which parties involved could benefit from litigation.

Job Description:

Our team is currently seeking individuals with experience in the writing industry to fill a limited number of remote positions within our company.

The position will require you to research current news stories and legal topics pertaining to specific areas of legal practice. You'll then create an original blog post based on the legal topic or news story, including context as to why the reader should care about the topic and how an attorney could offer assistance.

Our staff writing positions are work-from-home positions, and allow for flexibility in your work schedule so long as assignments are completed prior to their individual deadlines. As a Legal Blog Staff Writer at Content Customs you must be able to complete a high volume of content each week and across a broad range of legal matters. Our business primarily operates Monday through Friday, 8AM – 5PM EST, however, in many cases, our writers are able to complete work in the evenings or over the weekend if they choose to do so.

Requirements:

  • Strong writing, research, and organizational skills
  • Ability to carefully follow detailed guidelines
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to meet strict daily deadlines
  • Ability to consistently write the same quantity of blogs every week (20+/week preferred)
  • 1 year of professional writing experience (online writing preferred but not required)
  • Based within the United States

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in English and/or Journalism
  • Experience writing legal content, and knowledge of the legal process
  • Knowledge of AP style
  • Available for Skype/email communication during normal office hours (8AM – 5PM EST, M-F)

Compensation: $10 per article, with the body of each article being 300 to 350 words. You'll start with a small number of articles your first week or two (5 articles or less) and then your workload will increase depending upon your interest, capacity and performance.

How to Apply: Please send a resume and a brief description of why you're a good fit for the position to [email protected]. As a writing sample, please attach a 300 to 350-word blog post based on the following news story: http://www.dailynews.com/general-news/20161105/pasadena-man-suspected-of-dui-in-110-freeway-crash-that-killed-carson-infant-in-elysian-park?source=most_viewed
