Freelance Writer for a SaaS Company Helping Startups With Finance

Finmark, a financial modeling SaaS company, is looking for a new freelance writer to help expand our blog and build our content marketing efforts.

We create content to teach founders about startup finances and how to grow and operate a startup company. Examples of topics we might cover include:

• How to Extend Your Startup Runway
• Startup Expenses Every Founder Should Track
• How to Create a Financial Plan for Startups

We’re looking for a writer to contribute 1-2 long-form articles (1500-2000 words each) per month.

We’ll provide you with topics as well detailed briefs, and you’ll be responsible for writing the articles.

What we’re looking for:

• Experience writing for B2B SaaS companies, preferably educational content about startup growth and/or finances
• Startup knowledge. You don’t need to be an expert, but you should be familiar with basic SaaS financial metrics, terms, and topics (financial modeling, forecasting, runway, etc.) 
• Go beyond the surface. A lot of content in our industry is surface level or academic. We want to make our content actionable and compelling. 
• Willing to research. You need to be able to write deep and detailed content that’s well-researched and contains accurate information. We want our blog to be a reliable source of information for founders, so taking time to research and produce the highest quality content we can is our priority.
• SEO knowledge. SEO is a major part of our content strategy. We target topics that our ideal users are actively searching for, and we want to ensure our content is optimized for search (including relevant keywords, answering questions people are searching for, etc.)
• Conversion-minded. While traffic is nice, signups are better. You’ll have access to our software so you can learn how to use it and the pain points it can solve. You should be able to fit in natural opportunities to nudge people to sign up for our software in the content. That means showing how Finmark can be used to solve the reader’s problems.
