Description
River Horse Communications, a boutique and growing communications firm specializing in writing and editorial services, is seeking a Communications Associate to work with our team. Our experience spans the fields of journalism and public relations, and our current clients include publishing and media companies, government and private sector consultants, and educational institutions. The Communications Associate will be hired on a contract basis, with the opportunity to become a permanent employee. This is a remote position.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Research and data compilation
- Drafting materials for clients (including reports, newsletters, case studies, website content, internal communications, scripts, remarks, articles, presentations, etc.)
- Proofreading and formatting client and company documents
- Development and upkeep of style guides and templates
- Fact checking
- Drafting social media content for clients and the firm, and maintaining the firm’s social media profiles
- Event planning support, including drafting content for event collateral
- New business development support
- Compilation and maintenance of internal project logs
- Administrative support for the firm’s leadership, as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or a related field
- Two+ years of professional writing and proofreading experience
- Strong research, writing, and proofreading skills
- Ability to work independently with moderate supervision
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrate maturity when working with corporate partners and clients
- Multi-tasking ability
- Ability to meet deadlines and work professionally under pressure
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Experience with content management systems a plus
- Knowledge of Chicago Manual of Style and AP Style Guide preferred
Compensation Range: $40,000 to $50,000/year, commensurate with experience
